HDD Drives Definition

HDD drives are primary storage which stores your data, located in the Central Processing Unit (CPU), connected by ATA or SCSI cable, power cable, and installed in motherboard.

Unlike another hardware such as CD-ROM and floppy disk drive, this hardware can not be accessed directly. It can be accessed through the Operating System (OS) program such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Macintosh, just a few clicks the data can be deleted, stored, used, and transferred. HDD hard drive allows computer users to store various data in one place, has a small form, and requires less power consumption. CPU can accommodate more than one HDD hard drive, and each of them can have different storage capacity. It is known as Local Disk (C:) as default name recognized by Windows Operating System, and can be parted.

The partition creates virtual HDD drives which works to store the data separately. Please note that before the partition, you must backup your data first in CD-ROM or another external media such as external hard drive because your data will be erased after the partition. Avoid backup your data in virtual HDD drives in case of HDD hard drive damage, because the data inside it will be lost too.

Buying tips

HDD hard drive specification must be considered and adjusted to your needs, if you use the computer only for typing documents, store your data, and browsing the Internet, no need to buy a large capacity, 80 GB capacity is enough for you. For the gamers and mp3 lovers who want to install software for your child’s education or for your business purposes, its better to buy a larger one. It is becoming more advanced and cheaper (less then $1 per gigabyte) every single day and it is now possible to get a 350 GB drive for $60 which is dirt cheap.

The price depends on capacity and RPM, the greater the capacity and the faster the RPM, the more expensive it is. Make sure to find out first whether your desired HDD hard drive is easily to get hot or not before you spend money on it. You can choose Maxtor, Seagate or Western Digital products. Buy unbranded is not a right choice.

Considering PC requirements before installing large HDD drives capacity will prevent PC performance slowing down. For installing HDD drives 320 GB or more, I recommend to use at least 1.02 RAM memory and 2GHz processor speed or higher.

Maxtor Hard Drives Review

By Andreas Lee

Maxtor hard drives are the choice of video editors, gamers, and enthusiasts who demand maximum speed and capacity because they are designed for speed-intensive applications like video editing, games, and multimedia. Maxtor hard drives kit also includes easy Maxblast installation software, step-by-step instructions, and an interface cable.

Maxblast itself serves as a bootable disk for your system, and after booting the system up it will move directly into the first step of its wizard to set up your drive. These kinds of setup are very convenient and will take you right through both partitioning and formatting the drives. If your maxtor hard drives come with such software, its better to use the software and follow the manual that comes with your drive. Maxblast software can be downloaded for free at some websites too.

To give you a bank safe function for your data, you can try to take a look on Maxtor OneTouch 4 Lite 1 TB.

How much files do you have in your hard drive? Do you buy more than one hard drive to save your data? If you know about Terabyte external hard drive which offers a lower cost per Gigabyte then you will forget your old hard drives.

This hard drive gives me an experience about data security. The reason I pay more attention to this external hard drive is because it’s designed like Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus. Elegant and good-looking design of Maxtor OneTouch series plus their ability make me fall in love.

No more I can say about Maxtor OneTouch 4 Lite. It delivers high speed performance, as fast as another superior Maxtor hard drives, to prove that it is worth more than one hundred bucks.
